I Smell Bullshit
Ferolino is arguing that the 15-day rule does not apply to this disqualification case, because this is in fact 3 separate cases consolidated into one.
I have questions about that:
-What would be the purpose of the consolidating of the 3 cases, if not for them to be treated as one case? If such a delay is bound to happen for 3 consolidated cases, then doesn't that mean that these should not have been consolidated in the first place?
-If these are 3 separate cases, then the raffling should have been done differently. Why weren't they not raffled as separate cases?
-So what, if these are 3 separate cases? Because they are 3 separate cases, does it necessarily follow that an office of attorneys and clerks all working together can't tackle them in less than 15 days? It's not even really clear to us how the number of cases affect the timeline, because we don't even know how many pages there are per case.
-Why not ask for help from more lawyers or clerks, in order to meet the deadline? I find it hard to believe that Ferolino can't reach out for more help, especially for such a crucial case.
-Why can't she just be transparent with her timeline, at least? She doesn't need to be transparent with her decision. But does she need to hide her timeline from Rowena, her presiding commissioner, and the public?
I said it before, I say it again: I smell bullshit here, and agree with Rowena.
