Product design
I have been a product designer for a while now, specializing in items for children.
I didn't apply for the job. I just developed into having this role by accident. I used to make Amazon listing images for a client, and he had a few ideas at some point, and then I designed some items for him on the side. We didn't really expect them to sell so well at first, but they did, so their team in Hong Kong / Guangdong made product design a more permanent job for me. My background as a preschool teacher's daughter certainly helps in this job- I was exposed to a lot of children growing up. The toys are now mass-produced in Guangdong and then sold in Amazon US and UK.
It always feels great to sell considerably well and have good reviews, though of course I encounter a few bumps on the road from time to time- like the choice of materials being of low quality, and the final product not having the exact colors I planned for it. But generally, I am doing 75% okay as a product designer, I think. XD That is not bad, considering I just follow my gut and have no special training in industrial or product design whatsoever.
This section demonstrates my capability to create original work, skill in art curation, and ability to repurpose available vector graphics, for example, in the case of kites because they really do need to be adjusted so that the shape is conducive to flying.
Because of my high volume of work in this area, I’m featuring only the ones that are selling relatively well, and some upcoming ones. Purchase any of them on Amazon if something catches your eye! Just be wary of high shipping fees if you’re ordering from the Philippines. :)
